Located in the municipality of Uruapan, Michoacán, this park is one of the smallest protected natural areas in Mexico, with an extension of 450 hectares.
It was declared a national park on November 2, 1938 and has a management program published in 2007 that guarantees its conservation and sustainable administration.

The park is famous for being the birthplace of the Cupatitzio River, whose name in Purépecha means “river that sings”.
This crystalline body of water flows through the park, forming waterfalls and pools that further embellish the surroundings.
