Since pre-Hispanic times, the feathers of exotic birds have been used to create ornamental garments for high hierarchies. Over time, this technique has also been used in the elaboration of religious paintings, colonial and revolutionary motifs, landscapes and other designs, standing out for the richness of colors provided by the plumage. The process consists of patiently covering the previously traced drawings with wax and cut feathers, resulting in authentic works of art. This technique is widely recognized in the region of Tlalpujahua and has an important current presence in the city of Morelia.
