Originally from Santa Fe de la Laguna, this Master Traditional Cook was winner in 2009 at the Encuentro de Cocineras Tradicionales with her churipo, a beef broth with guajillo chile seasoned with cilantro and mint, presented with her corundas. Another of her award-winning recipes is her pozole batido, made with red corn that she nixtamalizes with ashes.
