The route begins with a transfer from Morelia to Cuanajo (40 minutes). Upon arrival, you will learn about the tradition of the wooden horses, used as offerings on All Souls’ Night. Participate in the Wooden Horses Workshop ( 2:00 – 5:00 pm), where you will decorate your own wooden horse. The cost is $300 per person and includes the horse.
Afterwards, travel to Tzintzuntzan (40 minutes), where you will visit the temple and former convent of Santa Ana. Afterwards, take part in a workshop on clay, taught by the artisan Angélica Morales (2:00 – 5:00 pm). The cost is $100 per person and includes materials. After the workshop, visit the local cemetery to learn about the traditions of the Noche de Ánimas.
Next, you will travel to Ihuatzio (20 minutes) to visit chuspata handicraft workshops, where you can observe the creations of the artisans. Then, in Tócuaro (35 minutes), you will participate in a Wooden Mask Workshop (12:00 – 17:00 hours) with a cost of $200 per person. The route concludes at the Urandén Springs, where you will enjoy a canoe parade and music and dance performances. Finally, you will return to Morelia (1 hour 15 minutes).
